Can you actually earn a living from something that interests you? Sure you can, and I'll show you how in this article.<br />
For the last few years, I have made a comfortable living through a network of hobby-related websites that are mostly educational in scope. When combined, the revenue produced by these sites covers most of my expenses, such as mortgage, car payment, groceries, vacations, etc.<br />
Now I don't say all this to boast, but only to get your attention. If you are taking the time to read this article, then you and I have something in common. We both have an interest in publishing websites around topics that interest us -- and we both have the desire to earn a living while doing so!</div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-85270153705622719282011-02-18T04:49:00.001-08:002011-09-29T22:43:06.530-07:00Birthday Flowers collecting hobby<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">Birthdays are one thing you can count on. We all have them and I'm willing to bet, all of your family members and friends have them too. Sometimes birthdays seem to roll around quickly. You can't believe it's been a whole year since you found the perfect gift for your cousin Susie, and now it's time to deliver again.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_86rdRb2nt8/TV5q3gagNTI/AAAAAAAAAEY/jTo3h507ldI/s1600/birthday_flowers.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_86rdRb2nt8/TV5q3gagNTI/AAAAAAAAAEY/jTo3h507ldI/s1600/birthday_flowers.gif" /></a></div>Whether the birthday boy or girl is a friend, lover or just an acquaintance, flowers can be ordered and designed to say just the right thing. Flowers have so much going for them, it's a wonder you haven't thought of this before!<br />
Think of the blossoms as building blocks. Each has color, texture and form. They each have a personality and many have a tradition. The rose is elegant and says love. The carnation is sturdy and says you can count on me. The orchid is exotic and dares you to dream.<br />
Next, think of your florist as an architect. She uses the building blocks to design a birthday greeting. An architect won't design a home for you until she has spent time with you and discovered your personality and your needs. A good florist should be asking a couple of questions to help her design the floral piece that says just what you want to say.<br />
No, we're not talking about a million dollar home, were just talking about a birthday bouquet. Still, you should try to convey the message you are trying to send when you order your flowers from the florist. Your florist can translate your words into flowers. Using words like Romantic, Festive, Bright, Soft, Extravagant, Elegant, Simple, Fun, Young, Classic, Natural, Earthy or Modern will help your florist understand the personality she is fitting.<br />
You can send flowers with little or no thought, and they'll probably be just fine. The enclosure card will say "Happy Birthday", and the message will get through. Or, you can invest just a few minutes into the process and choose flowers in a design that expresses the personality and message that fits the situation. It'll be worth the investment, I promise.</div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-5748810469088139342011-02-18T04:48:00.002-08:002011-09-29T22:43:15.374-07:00Batman Begins and the Mighty Fantastic Four hobby<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">Well, it looks like Hollywood keeps it continual pot of revenue filled with, guess what, comic book heroes. Batman Begins and The Fantastic Four have been duking it out on Hollywood and Vine. An age-old comic book company rivalry is yet renewing the heat this year. I guess all of us comic book aficionados always wonder who would win the battle between such and such superheroes.</span><br />
Well at least in the next few months one way to keep score is to watch the revenues generated between the recently released "Batman Begins" and "Fantastic Four", which were both childhood fascinations of mine. Not only are there superhero "what ifs" going on here, but which comic book company will stand to gain the most economic substantiation? Batman Begins punches the daily time clock at DC Comics and the Fantastic Four was the brainchild of Stan Lee and crew at Marvel Comics.<br />
And don't tell me there is a small comic book hero market. Batman Begins claimed the number one spot in gross revenue on its opening weekend. Hollywood is definitely increasing the thickness of its silver lining these days with comic book hero movies. Batman Begins took in almost $49 million it's opening weekend. How many mint condition old comic books would you have to sell to make that kind of dough? Are we in the wrong end of the comic book world (ha ha)?<br />
The rivalry between Marvel and DC used to be a major dividing line amongst the tight knit group of comic book collectors. When comic book interest started to decline in the 1970s, this issue became largely irrelevant. But now as video games, online role-playing games and major motion picture productions are spreading across the globe, the classic Marvel-DC conflict is springing back to life.<br />
Superman is coming back to life on the big screen as well as Wonder Woman. Marvel has been riding high off their major successes with the X-men and Spiderman. They are now digging deep into their catalog of characters and are working on screen adaptations of Iron Man, the Submariner, Thor and Silver Surfer, among others. Have we entered a new comic book age that will have to be defined around major motion pictures? Maybe it could be call the "Greenback Age". Do you have another definition?<br />
And as computer literate as so many are these days, Marvel and DC will have to start developing more online games and virtual universes of all their characters that you and I will be willing to pay a monthly fee to access through our computers and game consoles. Ka-ching, Ka-ching. DC has already announced a deal with Sony Online Entertainment and Marvel is working with Vivendi Universal Games. With the massive successes of the X-Men and Spiderman movies, this has proven that the Marvel characters still have life and relevance in today's pop culture.<br />
While DC may be playing a bit of catch up, they are quick to point out that they and Warner Bro. have been more successful on the small screen with TV shows like "Smallville" and several animated cartoon series. And further since their TV and film projects are filmed and aired by the Warner Bro. conglomerate, DC gets to keep more of the profit than Marvel does on their projects.<br />
What do we, the consumer public, get out of all this? Well, for one, we get to see our heroes in a more realistic light than ever before. We can grab that popcorn and maybe an extra drink and watch our comic book heroes and characters come to life in a real world setting, at least for a few hours, and walk out with a little more joy in our hearts. Go out and get immersed in Batman Begins and hold your breath for the Fantastic Four. And besides, this new revelation in Hollywood may just increase the value of our old mint condition comics. We can only wait and see.</div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-67351778647871197842011-02-18T04:48:00.000-08:002011-09-29T22:42:54.701-07:00Backyard Croquet hobby<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">Backyard <a href="file:///D:/silent%20friend/my%20personal%20data/Copy%20of%20adsense/web/hobbies/%3Ca" style="color: blue;">http://www.PlayCroquet.com</a>>croquet is a gift that keeps on giving. You can use a croquet set and you can use it again and again and again and again for friend or family entertainment. I recently bought a <a href="file:///D:/silent%20friend/my%20personal%20data/Copy%20of%20adsense/web/hobbies/%3Ca" style="color: blue;">http://www.PlayCroquet.com</a>/croquet_sets.php>croquet set and played a game of backyard croquet or poison croquet – another form of backyard croquet – with my family in my backyard. We had a nine-wicket, six player croquet set. Now that we have a set, we can play it as much as we want as a free, fun family outdoor activity. Anyone in the family can also invite their friends over for some cheap outdoor entertainment. They can also take it on dates or other group activities. For my family it is especially nice to have outdoor games such as croquet to play. Each Friday we have a family barbecue and find ways to entertain ourselves during the barbecue. Outdoor games provide a form of entertainment that we can enjoy many times over for an affordable price. We also have other outdoor games like ping pong, frizbee, Kubb, and more. We just had to purchase one croquet set and now we can use it as often as we like. The last time that we played outdoor croquet in my backyard, during our barbecue, hardly anyone in my family had played it before, so I got to teach them all how to play. It is always fun when it is someone’s first time, especially when they learn the rule of roquet or of placing your foot on your ball, next to another player’s ball, to hit their ball far out of play.</span><br />
During our first game, the lawn was not mowed, so it made the game a little more interesting. It was harder to aim and set the correct distance for your shot, so it made it more difficult for the experienced players to get an easy win. My brothers and sisters were able to keep up with me or at least keep pretty close throughout the game, although, I had not played for years myself. My sister just younger than me even pulled ahead of me near the end. I thought she might even beat me. My brothers and sisters thought it was fun to roquet or hit my ball, since I was the experienced player. Everyone always gangs up on the leading player in any game, it seems like.<br />
My sister missed the wickets at the end and passed them, so it gave me the opportunity to pull ahead hit the final stick and become poison. I stayed close by my sister just younger than me for a while, threatening to kill her ball with my poison ball, to stop her, but also to give the other member of my family the chance to catch up and feel like they had a chance to win before I crushed them. Finally, I finished my sister off, and subsequently defeated all of the others. Even though none of them had ever played before, I still felt a sense of pride from defeating them.<br />
We mowed the game for the second game, and this time everyone knew how to play and understood the rules, so I did not have to play that time. So it was a little better. I recommend playing on a nice cut lawn. It is more fun to be able to hit your ball a further distance without hitting it hard. The second game was probably a little more fun for everyone once they knew the rules. We did not have to stop and explain things to anyone either, so it flowed a little quicker and more smoothly. Some issues have been know to bring in monetary value of six figures, while other issues aren't even worth the price you paid for them. Action Comics #1 (the introduction of Superman) in mint condition has been quoted at being worth $650,000. A pretty tidy piece of change. Then Weird Science, issue #13, in near mint condition can command a respectable price tag of $5,750. There are also multitudes of back issues purchased at a newsstand price of around 5 bucks, that are now worth even less than that.</span><br />
So how does one go about determining the actual value of their individual collections? This is not an easy task or one to be taken lightly. Comic book worth is a highly perceived value and will vary quite greatly, depending on which opinion you choose to follow. By all means, if there is a reputable comic book dealer in your local area that you are comfortable dealing with, get his or her opinion. But in all my research so far, it seems that "The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide" is the bible of most active comic book collectors.<br />
I have my copy in electronic format, reachable from my desktop. It is very handy. If you truly want to understand what your magazines are worth, the first thing you need to do is to determine the physical condition of each comic book. Is it raggady ass poor with pages missing and in need of a paper clip to hold it together or has it never been opened since purchased and appears to be in mint condition? Even brand new comic books may not make the grade of mint or perfect condition.<br />
Overstreet gives a very detailed description of all the grades and sub-grades used in the 0.5 to 10.0 scale, generally acceptable by all comic book aficionados. If you follow his physical condition explanations and grading scale, you will get a pretty good feel for the conditions of your own collection.<br />
The next step in your pricing exercise is to then go through the myriad of pages to find your particular issues. Along with your now determined physical and grade conditions, you can find your issue's current assumed value.<br />
This guide also has tips on collecting, preserving and storing your comic books. And it defines the various ages (Golden Age, Silver Age, etc.) that comic book history has moved through.<br />
I guess if I had to mention a drawback to this guide, it would be the fact that there is soo much information to go through, it could take you quit a while to devour the whole book. Once you get well acquainted and comfortable with the guide though, you could consider yourself an expert in your own right and help your friends out with their collecting and pricing questions.<br />
I do believe this guide to be an invaluable and inexpensive resource to have and I don't think you will be disappointed with it. You can visit Heritage Comics at http://www.comic-book-collection-made-easy.com/CBPG to learn more about the guide. While you are there, you may want to surf around Heritage's site. There are some very interesting subjects there. If you have never seen Heritage Comics' site before and you really enjoy it, just remember where you heard about it at (ha, ha). Of course if you would rather have a hard copy of the Overstreet Guide, I an sure your local comic book store would have a copy and I hope this little review has helped you with your pricing questions.</div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-91405132272384553662011-02-18T04:47:00.001-08:002011-09-29T22:41:55.766-07:00A whiff of Nostalgia hobby<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">Today I was given a whiff of nostalgia. No, not some bottled perfume from my youth (eg 'Evening in Paris', remember? On second thoughts perhaps you'd rather not!!), but the wonderful God-given smell of cowslips from a cottage garden. I was immediately whisked back to my childhood and to the wonderful sight of fields of yellow cowslips and of that never-to-be-forgotten smell of the untouched perfume of wild cowslips mixed with the clean country air. In retrospect, I do not know what use those flower-laden fields were to the farmers, but they certainly brought joy to us, and they would return each year along with the primroses. Alas, of course, they disappeared with the intensive farming and chemicals of the l950's, but the delightful visual memory together with the perfume came back in a flash along with the gift.</span><br />
The cowslips evoked another childhood memory. How many of you got up at dawn in order to go 'mushrooming'. We only had to look for the 'fairy rings' as we called them (although to adults, they would have been just a different shade of grass), and then we picked mushrooms by the carrier bag full. Mother was waiting with the large family frying pan at the ready and after frying the mushrooms, a thick gravy was added, and then we all tucked in, the only addition to this luscious breakfast feast was the fresh crusty bread used to mop up the delicious gravy. What a flavour! Never to be tasted again and never likely to be. And who would add gravy to today's mushrooms? It just isn't done, and if it were, it would be tasteless, just like today's cultivated mushrooms in comparison. Of course, now I rarely eat mushrooms as with knowledge acquired over the years (and, sometimes I wish that I hadn't acquired this knowledge as it often spoils a favourite meal) I realise that mushrooms belong to the fungus family, and are to be avoided if you have a candida problem. However, we didn't seem to suffer any ill effects from them in those halcyon days, but, of course, they were part of a very varied diet of wholesome food devoid of chemicals and preservatives. Nowadays, we are advised to read the small print on the back of mass produced food packets in order to decipher all the listed additives, e-numbers, preservatives, colourings, etc. The best advice I was given in order to avoid an excessive amount of additives was simply this - IF IT TAKES LONGER TO READ IT THAN EAT IT, THEN DON'T purchase IT.<br />
Apart from the 'fairy rings' in the primrose field, there was a monster that we approached with extreme trepidation - the electricity pylon. Then it was known as 'the standard' and stories of what would happen if we children ventured underneath it made our hair stand on end. Our parents forewarned us with stories akin to The Hobbit and Harry Potter, and we believed them. I was told that I would turn into a pig (perhaps it was the way I tucked into the mushrooms that gave them the idea). No one told us that it was simply dangerous, because, no doubt, that would have had the opposite effect and we would have revelled in the excitement of flirting with danger and proving how brave we were. But to turn into a pig, left to grovel in mud, and then, who knows, perhaps ending up on the Sunday dinner plate .... we trembled at the thought ....<br />
However, a thought that crossed my mind when I was older, was how come that the electricity pylons were so near and yet none of the houses in the vicinity actually had electricity. Electricity did not arrive until my teenage years. Can you imagine life today without fridges, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, irons, hairdryers, etc? Yet we managed without quite happily, because what you've never had you never miss. Happy childhood memories are rarely linked to electrical items, they are usually linked to the pure joy of experiencing what nature provides, plus imagination - IF ONLY TODAY'S PARENTS OF YOUNG CHILDREN WOULD REMEMBER THAT.</div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-51929804352748212282011-02-18T04:46:00.002-08:002011-09-29T22:42:06.294-07:00Autograph Collecting: More Questions and Answers<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">Autograph collecting terminology and common sense are vital for the hobbyist in order to make informed purchase decisions.</span><br />
Question: What advantages does autograph collecting offer as compared to other collectibles?<br />
Answer: Autographs have been called “frozen moments in time.†Autograph collectors are curators of history. The most personal item that one person can give is his or her signature. Anything that can be signed can be considered collectible…letters, documents, photographs, books, memorabilia, etc. Few objects give a collector the opportunity to own a unique or one-of-a-kind item that is actually part of someone who is known by millions of people. That is the main reason why autograph collecting has become one of the fastest growing hobbies in recent years.<br />
Question: What guidelines should I consider when purchasing autographs?<br />
Answer: purchase autographs that capture your interest. Don’t purchase items presented as “investments†or sold through pressure. Learn as much as possible the language of autograph collecting. The more you study, the easier it will be for you to determine what items are authentic and which items to purchase. Use common sense when purchaseing a signed piece. If the price is too good to be true, it probably is. Purchasing from reputable dealers, who will help you avoid risks and problems, is paramount. Most dealers offer a certificate of authenticity, which is only as good as the reputation of the dealer. If the dealer cannot tell you when and where the item was signed or how it was obtained, go elsewhere.<br />
Question: I see many pre-printed autographed photos on eBay. What are these and is there any value?<br />
Answer: These are facsimile reproductions of actual signed photos. With today’s technology, sellers can easily copy an authentic item with great detail and sell at a drastically reduced price. Novice collectors or those on a limited budget are usually the target of these sellers. Unfortunately, many purchaseers are unaware that the item is a copy because of the vague description. We recommend that collectors avoid these pre-printed photos and be extremely careful when purchasing autographs online.<br />
Question: What is a COA? Must I have a COA with an autograph I purchase?<br />
Answer: COA is an abbreviation for “certificate of authenticityâ€. Many collectors require a COA before they purchase an autograph. Frankly, a COA is just a piece of paper that is only as good as the confidence of the purchaseer and the reputation of the seller. Always make sure you are purchasing from a person who knows how and where the signature was obtained and will guarantee the item to your satisfaction.</div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-15941004885594804472011-02-18T04:46:00.000-08:002011-09-29T22:42:14.226-07:00Apistogramma , dwarf Cichlids in the aquarium<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">The real apistogramma's come from southern America, they all have the same characteristics, like a complex breeding behavior, as their large relatives, only their size is different. Besides the apistogramma group there are also some relatively popular dwarf cichlids from Africa, like the Pelvicachromis group. From this group the most widespread cichlid is the Pelvicachromis pulcher, also known as the Kribensis or Purple cichlid.</span><br />
Generally the cichlids from the apistogramma group are more fragile and harder to maintain, and breed, for a longer period of time. In my opinion apistogramma's are not real beginner species. They are more likely to get diseases if not all the environmental variables are properly taken care of. They need soft and acidic water with a low PH value, a PH of 5.5 to 6 is preferable. They hardly eat dry foods, best is to feed them live foods or frozen food, like bloodworms, brine shrimp and mosquito larvae. Apistogramma species can be kept in a large tropical community aquarium, but be sure the other fish are not too small, they can defend their territory very fiercely, and can be quite aggressive when they are breeding. In my opinion it is best to keep the apistogramma's on their own, in a larger aquarium you could combine two apistogramma variants together, maybe supplemented with a small group of other fish, like some livebearers or betta's. They also can be kept together with discus or angel fish. I always have a harem of apisto's in my discus tanks, just to populate the lower areas of the aquarium and I really like these small dwarfs with a big attitude.<br />
The cichlids from the Pelvicachromis group are much more tolerant when it comes to water values and feeding, I do consider these cichlids a good beginner species. They are hardened, beautiful colored and eat almost anything. The Pelvicachromis pulcher is maybe one of the most easy to breed cichlids as well. If you have an adult couple they will reproduce, in a community tank, a special species tank or in a pond, some people like to breed them in their pond during summer. Actually some of the biggest and nicest colored Pelvicachromis pulcher were pond bred and raised. The only thing to keep in mind with these cichlids is that they are capable of redesigning your aquarium, they can make huge holes and are real little bulldozers. So if you have, or want to setup, a subtile planted tank, don't add a couple of Pelvicachromis to your aquarium.<br />
The last dwarf cichlid I want to mention is the Microgeophagus ramirezi, or Ram cichlid. Their behavior and care are roughly the same as the apistogramma's but they are more tolerant when it comes to water values, and in my experience they are easier to keep in good condition. Unlike the apistos they have to be kept as a couple, not a harem but that's the only breeding experience I have. I have tried several couples, have a couple in a breeding tank right now, but I have never even had a clutch of eggs. I know from other breeders that they are kind of hard to get going, but if they do they never stop.</div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-34642302841367237862011-02-18T04:45:00.002-08:002011-09-29T22:42:22.989-07:00AIRCRAFT OWNERSHIP: IS THE TIME RIGHT?<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">In the hours and days immediately following the tragic attacks on America of 9/11, there was much speculation about the effects on the general aviation industry. While the events of September 11, 2001 have had a significant impact on the economy as a whole, sales of personal aircraft in Michigan have experienced a surprising boost. Certainly, the convenience of personal transportation has played a major role in this increase as airport lines and security have become more time consuming. The reduction of flights resulting from the airline cost-cutting have limited flexibility for the business person and affected the productivity of companies relying on commercial transportation. These factors alone can’t explain surge of people joining the flying community for more than just pleasure. Rebates, low and 0% interest rates, training allowances, and yes, even the IRS played a role in creating an environment that has introduced more people to the benefits of aircraft ownership and had an effect similar to that seen after the passage of the General Aviation Revitalization Act of 1995.</span><br />
The IRS is here to help you? Well, believe it or not, a new tax law passed earlier this year represents a renewed attempt by our nation’s leaders to jumpstart the economic recovery. The bill applies to new airplanes acquired after September 10, 2001, and before September 11, 2004, and provides tax savings from economic stimulus provisions included in the Internal Revenue Code designed to encourage investment in capital assets. Visit your local airport and you’re sure to see plenty of forty and fifty year old aircraft operating for both business and pleasure. Even prior to the new tax law, Congress recognized that capital investment is an important part of our economy, and therefore allowed a five year depreciation of these assets. To further encourage investments, they do not require the depreciation to be spread evenly over the five years, but through a concept know as “double declining balance,†greatly accelerate depreciation during the first two years of ownership. Now with the additional incentives of 30% bonus depreciation on new airplanes, tax deferral opportunities are greatly expanded.<br />
So how might a business person benefit from these new changes? First of all, the impact of these depreciation changes greatly reduce net cash investment for the purchase of a new airplane. Specifically, an operator in the 40% tax bracket who can successfully write off his aircraft ownership expense may have no cash investment in the airplane during the first four years. Additionally, when properly structured, many taxpayers have an opportunity to convert personal use into business use. The Internal revenue code provides an optional method of taxing an individual for personal use of an aircraft which many times amounts to less than 10% of the actual deductions flowing from the investment. Consult your tax professional prior to purchasing your new airplane or ask your Aircraft Dealer for the name of an Aviation Tax Specialist to set up your purchasing entity.<br />
And you say you’re not a pilot? Local aircraft dealers like Suburban Aviation, Inc. in Lambertville, Michigan will actually teach you to fly your new airplane and even reimburse your expenses when you purchase a new Cessna airplane from them. Most of today’s pilots learned to fly in a Cessna airplane and the majority of these pilots continue to experience the freedom and flexibility that flight offers in one of Cessna’s many single engine models. For 75 years, Cessna has been the leader in general aviation aircraft providing a safe and reliable alternative to commercial airlines and the automobile.<br />
So if your business can benefit from improved efficiency and tax savings, why not consider a company airplane? There are few tax saving opportunities as effective as fully depreciating an aircraft on a five year accelerated basis, and with today’s interest rate environment, a well-structured transaction often results in little or no after tax cash flow holding costs during the early years of ownership. Of course, arriving at your meeting on time and with all your luggage can also be pretty convincing!</div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-38431835148948477562011-02-18T04:45:00.000-08:002011-09-29T22:42:28.769-07:00ADDRESSING SAFETY WITH NEW AVIONICS<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">"How safe is it?" Along with "How much does it cost?" this is a question we often hear when someone is considering flight training as an option for depleting his or her discretionary income. Our industry has experienced a marked reduction in overall accidents and statistically, a 27.8% reduction in the most recent 7 years! During this same time period General Aviation fatal accidents dropped 32.6% to just over 1 fatality for every 100,000-flight hours. Of these accidents, 80% are either partially or completely pilot induced, with weather related accidents and controlled flight into terrain (CFIT) accounting for the majority of fatalities.</span><br />
So what is the industry doing to address the issue of pilot errors?<br />
Bendix/King has taken the bull by the horns and addressed this challenge with several new avionics products, and Cessna has taken the next step by including the Bendix/King advanced avionics package in their aircraft.<br />
Situational Awareness: With its moving map and IFR approach capability, the KLN94 GPS provides added safety through increased situational awareness. This GPS with its full color screen is as easy to operate, as it is to view.<br />
Weather: Bendix/King Data Link Weather features a state-of-the-art data link system to bring textual and graphical weather to your cockpit with a high speed, high bandwidth system. With the KDR 510, weather information (including METARs, TAFs, and PIREPs) is automatically updated and displayed on your KMD 550 (multi-function display) in your cockpit. For a small monthly fee, you can also receive NEXRAD radar and additional weather products that promote additional weather avoidance capability.<br />
Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT): The KMH 880 Multi-Hazard Awareness System combines traffic and terrain avoidance features in one unit. Combined with the KDR 510 and displayed on the KMD 550, you can have all the situational awareness available to ensure an up-to-the-second picture of your flight situation.<br />
Workload Reduction: The KMD 550 Multi-Function Display (MFD) lets you spend less time looking at your instruments and more time flying your aircraft. The system gives you the information you need without added clutter, all while reducing the time required to manage each safety system. Along with its capability to display traffic, weather, terrain and moving map information, the KMD 550 also provides a wealth of reference information to the pilot including airports, NDBs, intersections, VORs, special-use airspace, victor airways, rivers, roads, lakes, cities and towers. When interfaced to the KLN 94, the KMD 550 can also display holding patterns, procedure turns and DME arcs for even greater situational awareness. Most importantly, this MFD is simple to use and sports a bright, razor-sharp display!</div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-83092438659172359022011-01-15T02:21:00.001-08:002011-09-29T22:42:35.170-07:005 Pieces of Equipment Gardeners<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">Gardening is fun and rewarding and may be considered a hobby, talent or both and sometimes it’s just luck. Gardening is not as easy as it looks and involves dedication, time and consistency and many trials and errors. There are many aspects to maintaining a healthy garden, but some aspects are more important than others. An individual who likes to garden can have the knowledge to produce the best garden in the world, but without the right equipment and materials it just wouldn’t be possible.</span><br />
<div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">Below you will find a list of the top 5 pieces of equipment which gardeners simply cannot live without:</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">1. Trowel – A trowel is a shovel-like piece of equipment which is used to dig up dirt and set small plants. There are many styles to choose from and type of handle on your trowel will determine how well it works. Easy grip, non-slide and non-slip grips are the best form of handle to choose. These will be easier to use and will require less work than any other form of trowel. A trowel with no grip will be difficult to use and could end up ruining your garden. Try one out in your hand first to ensure it feels comfortable. There’s nothing like having your hand cramp or the trowel slip while using it to dig in a beautiful, new plant.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">2. Pitchfork – A pitchfork is a gardening tool which has 2-6 prongs and a long handle. The sizes of pitchforks vary, depending on what they are being used for. The space between each prong varies as well. Pitchforks are used to separate, lift and throw loose pieces of material such as dirt and leaves.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LG4sy0GxV0o/TTF1PVW0PFI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/_oTNd53lz_U/s1600/6a00d8345192c169e2010535de16e2970c-800wi.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LG4sy0GxV0o/TTF1PVW0PFI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/_oTNd53lz_U/s1600/6a00d8345192c169e2010535de16e2970c-800wi.jpg" /></a>3. Spade – A gardening spade has a long, thick handle and a heavy flat blade. This tool is used to dig up and move pieces of dirt from one place to another. It can also be used to pack down dirt once the flower has been planted.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">4. Pruning Shears – Pruning shears are tools which have a long handles and blades. This type of gardening equipment is used to allow gardeners to precisely prune rose bushes and other plants and unruly vines, etc. It can also be used to cut the grass at the edges of walkways and garden beds, in those hard to reach places. It is also used to trim the edges and remove dead leaves or wood on flowers. There is no other piece of gardening equipment which can do the same job as pruning shears. Without the use of this piece of equipment, your garden will end up looking messy and disorganized. Always, always, always invest in good quality pruning shears. Good ones have a lifetime guarantee and low-end ones will make shrapnel of your heritage rose.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">5. Wheelbarrow – A wheelbarrow is one of the larger pieces of garden equipment. It is a cart with a handle and at least one wheel which is designed for easy transportation of materials from one place to another. Purchasing a wheelbarrow will save you a lot of time and effort, especially if you are off to the compost heap, and will make for a pleasant gardening experience. Another option is the 4-wheeled gardening cart.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">There are many pieces of gardening equipment which will make this hobby easier and more efficient, however the ones listed above are recognized as the most important. These pieces of equipment will likely last a very long time.</div></div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-3417753752305641712011-01-15T02:20:00.000-08:002011-09-29T22:44:00.268-07:005 Most Popular Flowers for Your Garden<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_LG4sy0GxV0o/TTF06mxBAMI/AAAAAAAAAEM/xDqKbOzgjiM/s1600/Three_Tier_Planter_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_LG4sy0GxV0o/TTF06mxBAMI/AAAAAAAAAEM/xDqKbOzgjiM/s320/Three_Tier_Planter_2.jpg" width="246" /></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">When planting a garden there are many questions which you must ask yourself before you begin. Where are you going to plant it, do you have the garden equipment to do so and how big do you want your garden to be? When do flowers bloom and what are their heights? These are all very important questions, however they mean very little if you have not yet decided which types of flowers you want to plant. There are many to choose from and don’t le anybody tell you which ones you can and can’t plant. Gardens are unique and fascinating to look at because each one is unique it its own way.</span><br />
<div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">There are endless possibilities of flowers to choose from but if you are unsure of which types of flowers are known to look best in gardens, keep reading and you will find out. The following is a list of the five most popular types of garden flowers chosen by gardeners from all over the United States:</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">1. Cosmos - These flowers have the ability to grow anywhere from 12 inches to 4 feet tall. Cosmos are perfect for cutting gardens and are often picked out of gardens and used in flower arrangements.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">2. Marigold – Marigolds can be found in yellow, orange, red or a combination of all colors. This type of flower blooms in 45 to 50 days from sowing and very rarely requires additional water than what the rain provides.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">3. Morning Glory – Morning glories have heart shaped leaves and are available in a variety of colors including white, blue, red, pink and lavender. This type of flower has the capability to become more than ten feet high.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">4. Zinnia – Zinnias are traditional, old fashioned flowers which are constantly blooming all season. If there is not a lot of rain, this type of flower will require watering on a consistent basis but try to get water on the foliage (leaves) as this can cause mold which can potentially cause the plant to die.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">5. Sunflowers – There’s no better flower for your garden than the sunflower. Sunflowers have yellowish-orange petal with a black circle in the middle. These flowers can grow to be as tall as 6 feet or possibly even higher depending on the flower itself.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">In order for your garden to flourish successfully, you will have to maintain it and keep it healthy on a daily basis. Watering cans, pruning shears, gloves and spades are all types of gardening equipment which will assist you in keeping your garden in good condition. These pieces of equipment are very important and are relatively inexpensive.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">The types of flowers you choose will have a large impact on the overall outcome of your garden. The list above was provided as a guideline for novice gardeners who area unsure of which flowers may be most adaptable to a garden atmosphere.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">Which flowers you choose will ultimately be your choice and regardless of the kinds or colors of your flowers, your garden will be a wonderful piece of work for everyone to admire.</div></div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-61796648220338625842010-12-28T21:45:00.000-08:002011-09-29T22:44:42.760-07:00Things to Consider when Building a Greenhouse<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">A greenhouse has the potential to provide many benefits for the average flower-lover. However, if they are not built in the appropriate location the results can be detrimental. That said, before you build a greenhouse, it is important to consider all aspects in order to ensure you receive the best results possible.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_LG4sy0GxV0o/TRrLCX5rS6I/AAAAAAAAAEI/R1lx816Pp6s/s1600/Greenhouse1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_LG4sy0GxV0o/TRrLCX5rS6I/AAAAAAAAAEI/R1lx816Pp6s/s1600/Greenhouse1.jpg" /></a></div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">If you are thinking of building a greenhouse, but are unsure of factors which can affect the outcome, read the information below which will inform you on everything you need to know before you start building. Consider the following factors when determining where you are going to build your greenhouse:</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">1. Light “ Everyone knows that plants need light to grow and sunlight is even more crucial for greenhouses because there are so many different types of plants and flowers requiring light. You do not want to build your greenhouse in an area which receives no sunlight at all however you do not want to build it in an area which receives too much sun either. Not enough can be harmful to the plants and flowers, yet so can too much sun. You will want to build your greenhouse in an area which receives a minimum of 6 full hours of sunlight a day. You may also want to consider planting a tree on either side of your lighthouse which will provide some shade through the day. Overhanging trees are not a good idea and may put your greenhouse in danger due to falling branches.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">2. Convenience “ You will want to build your greenhouse in a convenient area which can be easily accessed, but is not in an area which may be targeted by high winds. You donâ t want to have to walk a mile just to get to your greenhouse because chances are you wonâ maintain it as well this way. Other things to consider when building your greenhouse are access to electricity and water. These are important in the successful functioning of your greenhouse.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">3. Setting The actual setting of your greenhouse will greatly affect its overall performance. Many areas throughout the world receive high levels of rain during certain times of the year. This can be detrimental to operation of your greenhouse since too much rain can cause flooding inside. The best way to ensure this doesnâ happen is by building your greenhouse in a high level area that is a great deal higher than most of the other property.</div><div style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">Choosing the location of your greenhouse is the most important factor you will need to consider. Take your time and research all your options before you start building. A greenhouse is a large investment and you want to make sure the money you spend now will be worth it in the future.</div></div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-64096729215651647572010-10-25T06:50:00.000-07:002011-09-29T22:44:48.015-07:00Men and women of the zodiac:<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div class="horoscope">The <strong>horoscope love matches</strong> pages are a short guide to relationships between men and women of the zodiac.<br />

I have a post coming in a few days that talks more extensively about my life with a toddler. Cora is giving her siblings a run for their money when it comes to t<em>oddlers who get themselves into a whole lot of trouble when mom isn’t looking. </em>Her latest trick, throwing things in the kitchen garbage. This would be great if she was actually throwing away garbage, but she is throwing away things like silverware, cups, toys, and tupperware. Because of the way our garbage disposal is set up, we can’t fit a trash can under the kitchen sink so it is out in the open. It has a lid- but Cora quickly figured out how to get that open.<br />
<a href="http://thehappyhousewife.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/IMG_4728.jpg"><img alt="Hefty Trash Bags Review or My Life with a Toddler" class="size-full wp-image-13637 alignleft" height="350" src="http://thehappyhousewife.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/IMG_4728.jpg" title="hefty garbage bag" width="233" /></a><br />
After I realized that the reason we have no forks is because they were all sitting at the city dump I quickly moved the trash can into the pantry. Let’s just say that The Happier Husband was not happy with garbage sitting in the pantry. I wasn’t thrilled with it either, but I really like eating my food with silverware.<br />
About that same time as the “garbage-gate” was unfolding, the folks at Hefty contacted me and asked if I would review their new unscented trash bags with odor block technology. The fact that they were unscented got me interested (I personally do not like anything scented) and if they blocked odor this might be a solution to our trash can in the pantry problem.<br />
I have to admit, that I was a bit skeptical at first ( I usually am) but after trying them for over a week I am happy to report that they really do block the smell. While my preference is to keep the garbage under the sink, I really like these bags and will continue to use them because there is definitely less stinky-ness going on in the pantry.</div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-13391144498690533942010-10-16T01:14:00.001-07:002011-09-29T22:45:18.090-07:00Bad Hobbies/Habbits<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">My bad hobby/habit is gambling, albeit controlled/budgeted gambling. I spend x amount every month and not more than that, but if I think about how much I spent thus far its the equivalent of a small fortune. So I feel guilty now and then.<br />
I know many people frown upon it and I thought of making a new years resolution to stop, but I like it so much I dont think I will persevere to stop.<br />
Do you have a habit and are you trying to stop? <br />
1. smoking<br />
2. eating more then i need if it's yummy.<br />
3. eating unhealthy stuff.<br />
3. wondering around the house while i brush my teeth<br />
4. watching too much crap on tv.<br />
5. falling asleep in the bath<br />
6. cooking too much food, or buying too many groceries and having to throw stuff away.<br />
7. judging people too quickly.<br />
8. inability to make conversation with people I just have no interest in.<br />
9. spending too much money on stuff I don't really need.<br />
10. not visiting my mom more often. <br />
Drinking way to much coffee; falling asleep too early; other than that, not really any other bad habbits. I enjoy and like most of the things I do.<br />
I also believe that any habbit (good or bad) CAN be broker in 2 weeks.<br />
You just have to be strong and put your mind to it.<br />
It is as simple as that. Period.</div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-41441646119102010662010-10-15T04:15:00.000-07:002011-09-29T22:45:22.879-07:00Taking on Acting as a Hobby to Enjoy<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Acting crapper be a great hobby for you to enjoy in your spare time, and there are some places that offer classes that crapper help you hone your acting skills, even if you already hit experience in attending and participating in acting workshops; or that crapper help you see the basics of acting, if you are going into acting for the first time. I didn’t really need this test to tell me what hobbies I prefer either, but I took it any way. <a href="http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2007/leisure/quiz/index.html"><span style="color: #265e15;">CNN.com</span></a> Take it yourself if your not sure what hobbies you like.<br />
<em>You can’t be cooped up! People like you need to breathe fresh air and commune with nature. Feeling the dirt, rocks, water or sand beneath your feet and hands and having the wind in your face makes you feel alive. You’ll take the outdoors any way you can get it, whether you’re dangling from ropes, paddling a boat or speeding down the countryside on a dirt bike. You might like hobbies like spelunking, motocross, hiking, deep sea diving, white water rafting, ultimate Frisbee or other outdoor team sports.</em><br />
Now I need a test to tell me how I can have more time and money for my hobbies.</div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-77168556045763808482010-10-13T07:27:00.000-07:002011-09-29T22:44:34.359-07:00Hobbies Blog<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Hobbies bog what is this? is this question is on your mind? oh the answer of this question is there.....<br />

It was obviously something that I didn't plan for, and how</div><div align="left">could I have? It's not like you suddenly wake up one morning and decide you want to pick</div><div align="left">up knitting. Well, I suppose maybe you could, but then again maybe it's just pushing your</div><div align="left">limits, in the sense that, if it's planned, then it's not really something that came from within. I</div><div align="left">am saying this under the influence of the Rubik's Cube, which was a fairly common toy as I</div><div align="left">was growing up. I never paid any special attention to it, most likely because it was so</div><div align="left">common, and everyone had one.</div><div align="left">But recently, as I was taking the train from a small mountain town to return home, a</div><div align="left">deaf-mute salesman left some inexpensive trinkets in the compartment, among which was a</div><div align="left">Cube. I bought it mostly for the sake of it, and for the low price too. But, for three weeks or</div><div align="left">so now, I am still unable to leave it. I don't know if sufficient time has passed since I got it to</div><div align="left">qualify it as a hobby, but I have that feeling that I want to learn all there is to know about it -</div><div align="left">how to solve it, how to look at it, how to predict the position of the various cublets on its</div><div align="left">surface and so on.</div><div align="left">Lately, it's become fairly easy to develop hobbies that were only reserved for the privileged</div><div align="left">not decades ago. The Internet is making it possible not only to find various things to buy,</div><div align="left">but also to connect with people that share the same interests, even if they are thousands of</div><div align="left">miles away. I've always been curious as to how people catch on to hobbies, or if the</div><div align="left">hobbies are the ones "in control." Could people, for example, learn to like something, and</div><div align="left">then take pleasure in doing it, simply through the power of exercise? I know, for instance,</div><div align="left">that this is the case with computer gamers. Everyone plays, or played, games at one point</div><div align="left">in their lives, but to some it's become a reason to get up in the morning.</div><div align="left">I too go to great lengths to follow my hobbies. Granted, for many years, there were only</div><div align="left">two, and now a third one is developing. Obviously, I'm not taking about some fleeting</div><div align="left">interests, which come and go, but about things that I've enjoyed doing for many years.</div><div align="left">Music and aggressive skating have always been with me, since as far back as I can</div><div align="left">remember, and they have always required sacrifices, of both physical and mental nature.</div><div align="left">Smacking into concrete is never pleasant, unless of course someone develops a hobby out</div><div align="left">of doing this.</div><div align="left">But I think that the most interesting aspect of it all is to see how people regard themselves</div><div align="left">in relation to their hobbies. That is to say, they oftentimes go to great lengths to remain able</div><div align="left">to do the things they enjoy doing. While this may sound as a truism at first, it's actually not.</div><div align="left">At times, there are considerable incentives for people to stop doing the things they like.</div>When I fractured my spinal cord while skating, or broken a bone in my shoulder, I was well<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;"><div align="left">within my rights to burn my skates and pick up car washing as my new passion. While I</div><div align="left">cannot be objective in establishing the reasons why I continued to skate after that, I believe</div><div align="left">that you could have more revealing insights into these issues.</div><div align="left">The added bonuses</div><div align="left">There are also numerous benefits associated with having a hobby. One of the most</div><div align="left">pervasive and widespread is a better mental health. After a hard day's work, relaxing while</div><div align="left">doing the things you love boosts your mind's health without you ever realizing it. This</div><div align="left">happens because engaging in your hobby leads to the release of various hormones in the</div><div align="left">brain, which are associated with reward, satisfaction, happiness and so on. Dopamine and</div><div align="left">oxytocin are just two examples, and they are both addictive substances. If they are release</div><div align="left">while you are performing an activity, then you will most likely try to do it again, without being</div><div align="left">necessarily able to logically explain why. You will only say "Because I like it."</div><div align="left">Also related to this is the fact that there is a great degree of control in following a hobby. I</div><div align="left">have always appreciated the fact that an air of freedom and letting loose surrounds these</div><div align="left">activities, but there are actually numerous factors at work that generate this impression.</div><div align="left">One of them is the fact that you feel free simply because you choose to do that particular</div><div align="left">thing. It's not like other people can come over and direct you to the nearest hobby. You also</div><div align="left">get to practice it at a time of your choosing. Have you ever noticed how you tend to get</div><div align="left">cranky when you want to do work on your hobbies and you don't have enough time to do</div><div align="left">so?</div><div align="left">This is partially due to the release of the hormones I talked about earlier. The effect is</div><div align="left">smaller, but comparable, to a junkie craving for his/her fix. When the drug is within reach,</div><div align="left">but external factors prevent you from getting it, you naturally become anxious and nervous.</div><div align="left">I have recently developed what can be construed as hatred (to some degree) for time and</div><div align="left">clocks. As most of you, I have a busy schedule and a lot of things to do. I am always on the</div><div align="left">run and running errands, and never seem to find enough time to do the things I like. I often</div><div align="left">look at the clock and feel like breaking it, because even the short breaks I planned for</div><div align="left">throughout the day have been moved, or cleared altogether.</div><div align="left">Happiness</div><div align="left">But the fact of the matter is that none of these drawbacks associated with hobbies rival the</div><div align="left">happiness you feel when hiking, knitting, playing your favorite game, or organizing bug</div><div align="left">fights. I, for one, feel like I'm in a world of my own, and tend to ignore other stuff going on</div><div align="left">right next to me. For example, when I play music, I tend to only keep an eye on my band</div><div align="left">members, and even then if it's absolutely necessary. When I skate downhill with my</div>headphones on, I only look at people so I can avoid them. When solving the Rubik's Cube, I<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;"><div align="left">can successfully ignore other people trying to tell me stuff at the same time.</div><div align="left">This degree of freedom, and also absorption into your hobby, is only possible when doing</div><div align="left">things you actually like, and have liked for a long time. If you're lucky enough, you may even</div><div align="left">get to have a career in the hobby you're interested in. By definition, these activities are</div><div align="left">something you do outside your career, but combining the two would make for a very potent</div><div align="left">mix. Given that the paycheck is decent, you would most likely gladly take on a job in which</div><div align="left">to practice your hobby. Sure, there would be days in which you could get fed up, but overall</div><div align="left">things would be, as they say, peachy.</div><div align="left">Generally, I look at hobbies as being things you do for pure pleasure, and not necessarily</div><div align="left">for financial gains. Let's be realistic here, for most people their hobbies and their 9-to-5 jobs</div><div align="left">will remain two painfully distinct entities. But I think that the main reason why these activities</div><div align="left">are so helpful for the body and the mind is precisely the fact that you don't expect any sort</div><div align="left">of gain from them, other than your own personal satisfaction. Maybe this should be the</div><div align="left">norm in our society, rather than the continuous effort to produce more money, buying more</div><div align="left">useless things, and only then spending your hard-earned free time doing what you like.</div><div align="left">If it pleases you, hobbies can also be looked at as training for future, full-time jobs. Studies</div><div align="left">show that having a hobby boosts creativity, providing an outlet for your imagination to run</div><div align="left">free. This is a very sought-after quality in prospective employees, given that you are not</div><div align="left">seeking employment in a cubicle-based job, where all your moves are automated and</div><div align="left">routine. So, to recap, you relieve stress, boost your imagination, meet new friends, or</div><div align="left">connect to old ones in different manners, experience a sense of accomplishment, enjoy</div><div align="left">yourself, and all that by cultivating the hobbies of your choosing.</div><div align="left">I think it's safe to argue that this is a winning combination. But the many reasons why you</div><div align="left">should follow your favorite activities are fairly clear-cut to everyone. What I would be</div><div align="left">interested in learning is stories involving hobbies, as in things you had to give up, if any, or</div><div align="left">sacrifices you had to make in order to keep doing what you like. Stories of</div><div align="left">accomplishments, and also accounts of how your hobbies may have helped you develop</div><div align="left">personally, and go ahead "in life" would also be appreciated. I told you my story, and shared</div>with you the newly-found fondness I have of the Rubik's Cube. Now it's your turn.</span></span></span></span></span></span>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-35208103595354305472010-10-08T04:58:00.001-07:002010-10-08T04:58:48.409-07:00Make Soaps hobby<div id="body">Men look at a craft shops as a strange land filled with sequins, glitter, and flowers. Because of this they can't imagine finding themselves in one let alone trying a craft. However, soap making is an incredible hobby for both men and women. The fact is that everyone uses soap, and when you choose to make it you are able to personalise it for yourself.<br />
Homemade soap is very simple to create. It only takes a day or two to make a large batch of soaps, and you are able to completely customize your soap. This means that you can add your preferred scents and embellishments to your soap. It's a fact that soap making started with a complicated lye formula. However, today there are many melt and make soaps that make the entire process much easier.<br />
The most important thing that you need to start with is a soap base. You can get these at a craft store. Typically an alive oil soap base is a good place to start, but there are other options like aloe vera, goats milk, honey, and shea butter basses. Actually, men you can even make a shaving base for your soap if you want. Once you have a base you are going to want to think about what you can add to that base. There are many different options, but some of the most popular things to add to your soap base are essential oils, textured elements like pumice or loofah, or other natural exfoliates like cornstarch, coffee grounds, or cinnamon. You will want to think about what ingredients combine well together.<br />
Be careful when you choose your scents. In general if you want something that is appropriate for both men and women you want to steer clear of very floral scents. Instead, you might want to decide on more commonly used scents like coffee, lemon, or sage.<br />
When you have set your soap up to harden you can decide whether to use molds or to shape them with your hands. Usually most men decide whether to make their soaps molded by hand or with simple mold shapes like circles or ovals. Do not feel the need to make it overly ornate. You are making something functional so simple is often better.<br />
Once your soaps have set you are going to want to think about how they are going to be stored. Generally soaps are best kept in a simple cardboard box until you are ready to use them. However, if you do not have one near by then you can put your soaps in a paper bag and store them in a cool spot. You may even want to think about storing your soap in one of your clothing drawers because it will stay safe in the cool environment and it will make your drawers smell great.</div>shoaibnazarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14380553828731677699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6901361223086200617.post-69529637939543498402010-10-07T10:18:00.001-07:002010-10-07T10:18:50.606-07:00How to Make a Living From Your Hobby WebsiteIs it possible to turn your hobby website into a livelihood?
